At PT Works, we want to address the whole person, which is why in addition to Physical and Occupational Therapy, we also offer Speech Therapy.
A Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating people who have difficulty speaking, listening, reading, writing, or swallowing.
Our Speech Therapists specialize in Hawaiʻi’s geriatric population. They routinely help people who are stroke survivors or who have been living with Parkinson’s, Dementia or Alzheimer’s Disease. Our Speech Therapists strive to help all of our patients reach their highest functional level in communicating and swallowing. This, in turn, can lead to sometimes dramatic improvements in a patient’s quality of life.
Our licensed Speech Language Pathologists hold the American Speech Language and Hearing (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) and other required credentials (i.e. state licensure and certifications).
